August's newsletter

This month's newsletter continues our successful jazz book sale, with even more jazz biographies and memoirs, books on big bands and swing, New Orleans, jazz guitar, song writing and popular song. All at very reasonable prices and with all proceeds going to help fund the archive.

There is an obituary of singer Annie Ross, who sadly died on 21 July aged 89. We've included a link to a video clip as a tribute - This shows Annie's versatility as she sings Twisted and Everyday I have the Blues. We have also included a range of images of Annie from the archive. The detail from a photograph of Annie Ross above is from the National Jazz Archive and was taken in 1962 by Brian Foskett.

Also referenced is the work of Trustee Corey Mwamba. By visiting his website using the link provided you can explore how various British and Irish jazz artists inter-relate.

Please also consider following the archive using social media to keep informed and to see examples of the various resources held by the archive. The newsletter contains details as to how you can do this (or use the links on the bottom of our various web-pages).
