  • Hawkins just finished a concert in Brussels to a very enthusiastic crowd. He intends to do another there and 'one in Antwerp this coming autumn'. He thought he was through with Holland for a while but he must return to do a gala night in Rotterdam but he'll have to come back to belgium as he's playing in Ostend beginning 24 July. He notes that the 'M. M.' (Melody Maker ?) gave him 'a nice little write up about my record 'Consolation'. He's crazy about the recording. He's been told he has a way of playing which fascinates women. He's been very busy since his last concert in Brussels writing music for his next recording session which is intended for the last week in August. He's written a 'gut-bucket' blues which he thinks Renee will like.,,
