Newsletter No.6 for 2021

Women in Jazz Media logoWelcome to our sixth e-newsletter of 2021 with news for our followers and lovers of all things jazz.  Sign up to automatically receive our free monthly emails with news about the Archive.

In a packed newsletter, we have lots of news to share about the Archive. Not least, information about the up-coming Darius Brubeck Quartet concert in Loughton on 18 September 2021. This will be our first fundraising concert for over 18 months, and we're excited to be able to promote great jazz again.

Get your tickets for the Darius Brubeck concert now to avoid disappointment, as they're going fast.

We are pleased to announce the establishment of a relationship with Women in Jazz Media, which is part of the work Trustees are doing to help address the issue of diversity in the Archive. Work has also concluded on reconstituting the Archive as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), which is explained by our Chair of Trustees, Paul Kaufman.

Archive Associate Mike Rose also takes us on a personal and nostalgic look back to his early discovery of jazz through his brother's 78 rpm records, which he's recently rediscovered.

We hope you enjoy catching up on the jazz news. If you've got a jazz memory you'd like to share with us, get in touch.  We'd love to hear from you.
