Frans Davids

Born December 24, 1960, in Emmen, The Netherlands, Frans began to take an interest in photography during his high school years. For a long time, that was his hobby, but he was truly ambitious with music, and in 1990 he graduated from the conservatory in Zwolle (classical piano).
In the years that followed, his interest in photography began to grow, and he completed the Fotovakschool (School of Photography) training. When he received more and more opportunities to take on assignments, he started a sole proprietorship in 1996: Frans’Fotografie.

Countless clients have passed through his hands, and over the years, he built up more and more experience in various photographic disciplines. In 1992 and 1993 he visited the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague and later on more rock and pop concerts where – of course – he took photo's as well. He also immediately embraced the digital revolution in photography around the turn of the century. At the same time he did not forget his piano-playing skills and he played in a R&B/soul band for years.

“Nowadays, photography as a profession has taken on a different role: photography is available to almost everyone, and trends in this area have changed. Ultimately, however, it remains a beautiful and creative profession. A craft.” – Frans Davids 2026
