Posters

Our extensive collection of posters is part of the National Jazz Archive satellite collection, which can be viewed at Birmingham City University. They are an evocative record of events and performances, reflecting the designs and fashions of the period.

Here you can explore a small selection of digitised images from our collection, notably the stunning series for concerts supported by the Arts Council in the 1970s and 1980s, plus the complete set of Soho Jazz Festival posters from 1987-2001 designed by the eminent Scottish artist Eduardo Paolozzi.

The posters are arranged by sub-collections, which can be selected below. Then you can explore individual posters, which are arranged in alphabetical order of the artist’s first name.

A further 100 posters for concerts throughout the UK have been digitised and can be accessed in the Archive at Loughton.

All reasonable efforts have been made to ensure that any intellectual property rights in the journals and images displayed have not been infringed. If you do not believe this to be the case then please contact us.

Due to copyright restrictions, some digitised items cannot be viewed over the internet: these are indicated by the National Jazz Archive logo. However, you can view them online by visiting the Archive. To arrange a visit call (from the UK) 0208 502 4701, email us directly using the address enquiries@nationaljazzarchive.org.uk, or use our easy-to-use contact enquiry form.
