  • Programme for the Grand Variety Performances at The Palladium for the week beginning Monday, April 21st, 1919. Performers included The Original Dixeland Jazz Band from New Orleans who had arrived in the country on April 1st 1919. They played their first engagement in the UK at The Hippodrome before moving on to open at The Palladium. Performing with them was Johnnie Dale, 'a Jazz Dancer'. Alongside them in the programme were Stan Kavanagh & Company presenting "The Sports Shop", Cissie Lup.No, 'speciality dancer', Whit Cunliffe, 'the harmonious study in brown', Marie Blanche assisted by Lillie Myles, Wilkie Bard, Violet Essex and Percy Honri and his concertina.,Prices of admission were from 1 shilling to 7 shillings and 6 pence and boxes were priced between 15-26 shillings.,
