  • Description
  • hawkins really likes Paris - 'the most grand place this side of New York'. He's having a 'most delightful time'. He's getting no sleep and playing five shows a day - 'Which I think are most frightful'. He ran into Louis and Alfa [sic] sitting in a restaurant opposite the melody's bar. He went to the Villa d'Este on the Champs Elysees and heard Freddie Taylor leading a band - they were excellent and hawkins wanted to get on the stand and play with them. Hawkins may use them for a recording session. He also went to a 'Hot Club' dance in Mont Parnasse. last night he went to Chez Florence to hear Willie Lewis and his Band. previously he'd gone to the Lido Club. The Parisian club-goers really enjoy life and miss nothing.,,
