  • Letter mentions Renee being a possible 'Mrs. Hawkins'. Impact of not signing the contracts for Belgium earlier as Belgium has just come off the Gold Standard and the value of the Belgian Franc has dropped against the French Franc - as Hawkins was to be paid in French Francs he thinks the promoters won't be able to pay the full amount - and Hawkins will have to bear the loss. Hawkins seems unperturbed by this - 'better luck next time.' He's had a message from Paris notifying him of a request to come to Barcelona, Spain for a possible concert - and he'd like to go. He can't understand why his recodings from Paris aren't in 'England and other parts yet.',,
