  • Personal letter. Hawkins has been told that 'Gate' is anxious for Hawkins to return to London.Hawkins is playing with Mrs Hylton this week but he doesn't think he's advertised to play with her next week and, as 'Jack's taking the week off' he may have that week to himself.,,

    Format notes: Envelope reverse marked 'H H' (Honywood Hotels). Paper from the Angel Hotel, Cardiff (a Honywood Hotel). Envelope also contained a small card and there was an annotation on the inside of the envelope, 'Love's ecstasy, all to you from Me' (this couldn't be scanned). Two sheets of the hotel paper, folded to form eight pages. Of these, pages two and three are written diagonally to form a single, double sized, page of message. This double page spread is numbered II. The last page on the second sheet is left blank. This gives six written 'pages'. Envelope postmarked Cardiff. Sent to 34, The Avenue, Brondesbury, London, NW6. No date. Letter signed 'Coly'.
