Hawkins has been playing, writing and recording music at different places for the last few days. He's just returned from Laren where he'd been recording. The Boswell Sister were also recording at Laren. Hawkins thinks his session went well. He recorded 'Chicago'; 'That's what Harlem is to Me' - which is a tune from the new Connies Inn floor show; 'Meditation' - a pretty number written by a Dutch boy; 'Netcha's Dreams' - a new tune just written by Hawkins. He thinks his recording of 'Meditation' will be one of his best recordings. He doesn't know exactly when his next broadcast will be but probably in the first ten days in September. He's not heard from 'Smack' recently nor has he heard from Floretta but he's had several letters from Gertrude.,,
Subject notes (people): The Boswell Sisters; Connie Boswell; 'Smack'; 'Gertrude'; Floretta'. Subject notes (places): Laren, Netherlands. Subject notes (recordings & songs): Connie Boswell's 'I Can't Give You Anything But Love'; Coleman Hawkins' 'Chicago', 'That's What Harlem Is To Me', 'Meditation', 'Netcha's Dreams'.,
