  • Hawkins is typing this as his handwriting is getting bad. He's been very busy and has been rehearsing for future broadcasts. He's had anoither offer to come to England but can't accept it at the moment. He's playing in the 'Mac-Mahon' in Geneva - 'the best place in Switzerland'. The boss at this place is quite marvellous and insists on Hawkins joining him in his many 'John Haig' moments - a trial as Hawkins is trying to stop drinking so much. He's heard Benny Goodman's 'China Boy' with the trio and it's 'really okay'. He's getting tired of hearing 'Tangoes and Waltzes' - he may take a 'trip to the States next summer to hear something good in Harlem'.,,
