  • Description
  • Mentions a recording session for H.M.V in Paris the previous Saturday with a thirteen piece orchestra under his own name- used the best musicians in Paris and not the ones used in the recent concert - 'thank goodness'. He thinks these may turn out better than the ones made in Holland. 'Lost in a Fog' paired with 'Honeysuckle Rose' has just been released on the continent - E. Jackson had'nt intended to release it - 'foolishness'. Hawkins definitely intends to do another concert in Paris - he enjoyed the previous concert and this next concert wpould be promoted by Le Soir. Fletcher (Henderson?)'s new record is 'nothing but 'Yeah Man' turned around slightly'. The 'M.M. or some Emglish paper' said Hawkins played on this but he couldn't have as he was in England when it was made. Hawkins prefers the Hague to Paris because Paris is too mercenary. He's leaving for Copenhagen later this day for a concert with a fifteen piece orchestra - this is his first trip to Denmark.,,
