  • Description
  • Personal letter. Hawkins found it funny that Renee had signed ' that slip to cover Edgar's name on the disc.' Hawkins opened to a very successful house - 'These people are Jazz crazy'. He'd also been to hear 'Louis de Vries (trumpet player) and his orchestra at the "Tabarin". He seems pretty good - plays a lot of Louis' stuff.' Hawkins understands Tabarin is going to England at the beginning of February to do a week at the Mile End Empire. Hawkins sees in Melody Maker that 'Stone' (Lew Stone ?) has finally got a job in the West End. Hawkins will remain in the Hague until the 16th.,,
Subject notes (people): 'Edgar' (Edgar Jackson ?); Louis de Vries; 'Stone' (Lew Stone ?). Subject notes (places): 'The Tabarin'; Mile End Empire, London, England.,
