Mark 'Snowboy' Cotgrove

Snowboy is a musician, producer, DJ and author. As a percussionist Snowboy (real name, Mark Cotgrove) began playing in his early-20's, and has since released 16 solo albums of mainly Afro-Cuban Jazz.

He came to prominence in the late-80's as one of the original artists on Acid Jazz Records and as frontman of his band Snowboy and the Latin Section, Europe's leaders in Afro Cuban Jazz music. Snowboy has played at countless festivals and in clubs in over 36 countries. The band have played over 70 shows at Ronnie Scott’s in London as well as annual shows at The Jazz Cafe, Pizza Express Live and the 100 Club.

Snowboy has recorded and performed percussion with world-leading Jazz, Latin, Pop and Soul stars and features in the Who's Who Of Latin Music. He is the author of the book 'From Jazz Funk And Fusion To Acid Jazz' and is research lead and interviewer on the National Jazz Archive's Jazz in Essex oral history project, funded by the Heritage Lottery.
